Budapest Noir – Charity Film Premiere

The charity premiere screening of  Budapest Noir  was aimed at fundraising for the Heim Pál Children’s Hospital Innovation Fund and will partially cover construction of a new MRI building. The construction starting in November 2017 will enable for the little patients to attend their check ups within the hospital and not have to travel to another institution while their physicians will have the test results immediately at hand.

The idea originated from the film’s distributor, Big Bang Media and both Eva Gardos, the director of the film and myself agreed with the cause immediately.  In England and the United States holding film premieres for a good cause has a big culture. – explains Ildiko Kemeny, the lead producer of Budapest Noir – The debut of a film as the center of attention is always a good possibility to highlight social responsibility.

Budapest Noir premiered internationally on the 53rd Chicago International Film Festival. “A love letter to a Pest that no longer exists, Elemér Ragályi’s stunning cinematography and Pater Sparrow’s detailed designs create a real, living piece of history. Andras Szeker’s screenplay is taut, funny, serious, and violent with the requisite twists and turns necessary to pull off a whodunnit… as good as we’re going to get when it comes to an honest noir film”. – nospoilerreviewz
