‘Maria’ Trailer: Angelina Jolie Sings as Iconic Opera Singer Maria Callas
Angelina Jolie goes through all the emotions in the first teaser trailer for Maria, which sees the actress portray the legendary but troubled opera singer Maria Callas.
The film, directed by Pablo Larraín (Jackie and Spencer), follows the “American-Greek soprano as she retreats to Paris after a glamorous and tumultuous life in the public eye. Maria reimagines the legendary soprano in her final days as the diva reckons with her identity and life.”
Filming for “Maria” began in Budapest in October 2023 with additional filming locations including Paris, Greece and Milan.
Netflix will first release the film in theaters on November 27 in order to qualify for an awards season run before making its streaming debut on Netflix on December 11.
